Share files with people nearby
ASENDME finds people close to you who also have the site open. There is no account to create or app to install.
How to send a file
- Open asendme.com on both devices. Choose a display name and allow location access so the devices can find each other.
- Check that both devices are within the selected range. If you see nobody, invite a friend to open the site, increase the range, and make sure neither device is in Ghost mode.
- Tap the person's avatar on the radar or map, then choose a file. They receive an offer and decide whether to accept it before any file is sent.
Keep both browser tabs open while sharing. If a direct browser-to-browser connection is unavailable, an end-to-end encrypted relay can carry the file instead.
Receiving and privacy
You control incoming offers with Receiving on/off. Ghost mode hides you from other people's discovery; switch it off when you want someone to find you. You can block or report a person from their profile.
The service uses your location to discover nearby devices, but does not store your files on the server. File data is encrypted during transfer, including the relay fallback. Closing the tab removes your live presence after the connection expires.
Common questions
Why can't I see anyone?
Both people need the site open, location permission enabled, and to be within the selected range. Ghost mode prevents other people from finding you. If location was denied, allow it in your browser's site settings and reload.
Does the other person receive a file automatically?
No. Every file offer requires the recipient to accept it. They can also turn receiving off at any time.
Does sharing require a mobile app?
No. Use a current browser on your phone or computer. Location access requires HTTPS, which asendme.com provides.
